The babies spent the first three weeks of their life in hospital. This was a really hard time for us all. However, we were grateful that the babies were healthy. Sawyer was born a little hypoglycemic due to the stressful pregnancy and birth and the gestational diabetes. He also needed to go under an oxygen hood due to being born with wet lungs. I couldn't hold him the first day, which was not good. The babies spent about one week in an incubator. They then spent the next two weeks working on breast feeding. They came home after three weeks of daily trips to the hospital. Drew took off a week and spent it at home with us. We slept a few hours here and there. The routine was every three hours around the clock so it was pretty tough. But we were just so happy to get them home.
